MINNETONKA, Minn. — First Student Tonka Bay was recently named the 2015 Organization of the Year by Minnetonka Community Education.

The First Student location provides transportation services for Minnetonka Public Schools. The award recognizes the contractor’s support of the community and the district.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” First Student Location Manager Gary Casey said. “Our team has a long history of supporting the Minnetonka community.”

First Student has served Minnetonka Public Schools and its families for more than 15 years. The company operates 100 buses in the area, transporting about 6,200 Minnetonka students daily.

In addition to providing transportation services, First Student supports the work of Minnetonka Community Education by providing buses for the Tour de Tonka bike race each year. The organization supports the educational, social and recreational needs of children and adults in the community by offering a variety of learning programs.
