WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Durham School Services has developed and launched an app that enables parents and guardians to view the location of their child’s bus in relation to their bus stop.

Company officials said that Durham Bus Tracker incorporates a number of security features and allows parents to see only their child’s route. The app requires parents to create a password-protected account and to authenticate their child’s school ID.

Parents can view all of their children’s assigned routes on one screen, along with a scheduled home arrival time.

“We designed Durham Bus Tracker with safety and security in mind, and we are pleased to have built a solution that meets these requirements while also responding to our customers’ needs for information,” said David Duke, CEO of Durham parent company National Express LLC.

The app has been piloted at several Durham locations. Duke said that “both parents and school district administrators have found this to be a very valuable and helpful tool.”

The Durham Bus Tracker is provided at no additional cost to the school district or parent. It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play, or it can be viewed on a web browser.
