VERSAILLES, Ind. — More than a dozen school bus drivers here were just one number off from taking home millions in last week’s Powerball drawing, but had enough matching numbers to win $50,000, RTV6 reports.

Ron Buchanan bought 15 tickets for a group of 15 of his fellow South Ripley Community School Corp. bus drivers, according to the news source. He told RTV6 that when he first checked the numbers, it didn’t look like there were any winning tickets. However, he looked again the following morning and realized the group had won $50,000.

The group split the winnings, with each driver receiving about $2,300 after tax.
