LEBANON, Tenn. — Special-needs students here were treated to a Valentine’s dance courtesy of the area school district’s bus drivers, Lebanon Democrat reports.

School bus driver Mary Goodman estimated that more than 400 Wilson County Schools special-needs students, ranging in grade levels from preschool to high school, attended the dance, which was held on Feb. 17, according to the newspaper.

Goodman also said in a Lebanon Democrat video that about 20 years ago, a few bus drivers came up with the special activity for the students, because they never got to go on field trips, and it “has grown in leaps and bounds” since then. Goodman added that the bus drivers put on the event for the students “because we love them, not because we have to.”
