A security training event, a top transportation safety official, and a Boston Marathon bombing survivor are among items on the agenda for the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) Summit this fall.

The 2016 NAPT Summit will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, from Nov. 4 to 8. As usual, it will feature a variety of workshops, in-depth courses, and keynote speakers, as well as an extensive trade show.

One of the standout sessions on the schedule this year is a new student transportation security training event that will be held by NAPT and the Transportation Security Administration.

“This must-attend event will include classroom instruction, table-top exercises, real-life drills, and full-scale multifaceted exercises,” according to NAPT.

The keynote speaker lineup for the Summit includes National Transportation Safety Board chief Christopher Hart, consultant Mark Aesch, artist and speaker Richard Hight, and Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, who helped identify one of the bombing suspects.
