LONDON — National Express Group recently held its annual Values Awards ceremony to recognize employees and teams across the organization for their hard work and dedication to living the company’s values. The ceremony featured awards in categories such as Safety, Customer, People, Community, and Excellence.

Over 140 people, working in many different locations across the United Kingdom, Germany, Bahrain, Spain, Morocco, North Africa, and North America, attended the event.

Representing North America at the Values Awards dinner and achieving the group’s highest honors were:

•    Dan Gleich, who has worked as maintenance manager in Charleston, South Carolina, for three years, was the overall winner for the Excellence Award. His efforts were recognized by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety during 2015.

•    Receiving the overall Values Award for Safety, Rita Garretson of Waterloo, Iowa, helped to prevent a known drug user from attempting to abduct a young child from her bus.

•    Paul Huynh was honored with the Highly Commended Award for his personal commitment to help brighten the lives of sick children through his passion for performing magic tricks. Every weekend, Huynh visits children staying in the Chicago, Illinois, area pediatric wards where he performs magic tricks.

•    The recruiting and on-boarding team in Shelby County, Tennessee, also received the Highly Commended Award. With over 200 new drivers on board, they were able to offer their local school board an excellent school start with a full staff of drivers. They also helped out other local operations and held numerous charity events.

“It was a very special evening and I am proud to recognize these individuals for representing our organization by living out our company values every day,” said David A. Duke, CEO of National Express LLC. “The Values Awards ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our team members who go above and beyond in the communities we serve.”
