HIGH POINT, N.C. — SynTec Seating Solutions will install its S3C lap-shoulder seat on more than 200 Thomas Built buses serving Texas schools.

Thomas Bus Gulf Coast, located in Houston, was recently awarded an order from Dallas County Schools (DCS) for 245 Saf-T-Liner C2 buses equipped with SynTec’s lap-shoulder seats.

With the completion and delivery of this order, DCS will operate more than 450 school buses equipped with the lap-shoulder seats, totaling more than 10,000 of the seats. DCS buses account for the largest fleet of school buses operating with S3C seats in the country, according to SynTec.

“We are especially pleased with the ease of cover replacement provided by the zippered back. We have also chosen the gray/black seat backs which greatly reduce seat back vandalism,” said Aaron Hobbs, executive director of transportation for DCS. “The serviceability that SynTec’s S3C seat provides was a key factor in our decision to award this latest bus purchase to Thomas Bus Gulf Coast.”

The DCS transportation department oversees transportation functions for 12 school districts in North Texas and transports more than 75,000 students to and from school daily. This is the third order placed by Dallas County for Saf-T-Liner C2 buses with SynTec S3C seats in the last three years.
