WATERLOO, N.Y. — Three school bus drivers here were honored for the quick actions they took to keep students out of harm’s way, Finger Lakes Times reports.
The Waterloo Central School District bus drivers — David Dressing, Ernest Tillman, and Karolyn Gaydosh — were recognized by the school board and presented with certificates by the union that represents the bus drivers, according to the newspaper.
On Dec. 2, Dressing was able to stop a 5-year-old girl from crossing the street and getting hit by a motorist who sped up to pass his stopped school bus. He refrained from giving the girl the signal to cross, honked his horn, and yelled for her not to move. Meanwhile, Tillman and Gaydosh were recognized for taking extra measures to keep students safe when a vehicle passed their buses, Finger Lakes Times reports.
