HIGH POINT, N.C. — Thomas Built Buses has named Kim Alston its new manager of powertrain and technology sales, effective Sept. 18.

In her new role, Alston will work with dealers and customers to determine the best powertrain offerings for fleets. Examples include Cummins engines, Detroit engines, Allison transmissions, and features within Thomas Built’s BusWise Technologies suite.

“Kim’s role in this new position will further enhance our strength of offerings,” said Ken Hedgecock, vice president of sales, marketing, and service. “Thomas Built Buses offers a variety of powertrain options. Kim will help dealers and customers pinpoint the key features of different engines, transmissions, and BusWise innovations and determine the best fit for each specific fleet.”

Alston has been with Thomas Built Buses for more than 13 years. Most recently, she served as supply chain manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University.
