2 Women Accused of Assaulting School Bus Driver

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Two sisters here have been charged with harassment and disorderly conduct following a confrontation with a school bus driver.

Just before 4 p.m. on Aug. 31, deputies were called to investigate a report that a bus driver had been assaulted, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver reported that he was finishing his route when he was approached by two women who began yelling obscenities at him. One of the women allegedly spit on him through the window and punched him in the side of the head. The other woman reportedly tried to punch him, but missed. Before leaving, one of the women allegedly tried to tear the crossing arm off the front of the bus.

The women were reportedly upset that the bus stop was two houses down from where one of them lived and not at her house, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The victim recognized one of the women, but not the other.

The women were identified as 31-year-old Angela Shawntae Davidson and her sister, Ashley Johnson.
On Wednesday, deputies obtained arrest warrants charging Davidson with disorderly conduct and harassment and Johnson with disorderly conduct, harassment, and criminal mischief.

After obtaining the warrants, deputies went to Davis’ home and arrested her. They also went to Johnson’s home, but she was not located. Johnson remains at large.
