SAVANNAH, Ga. — A fire broke out on a school bus here on Tuesday morning, but the driver was able to evacuate safely.
The school bus, which belongs to Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, reportedly caught fire at around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Beaumont Dr. and Robin Hood Dr.
Chatham Emergency Services reported on its Facebook page that units were on the scene in three minutes.
Sheila Blanco, a spokesperson for the district, confirmed to WJCL that no students were aboard the bus at the time and the driver was not hurt.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to WTOC.
