FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Q’Straint announced on Tuesday that it has acquired mobility equipment supplier Adapt Solutions.

Headquartered just outside Quebec City, Quebec, Adapt Solutions manufactures wheelchair accessible automotive turning seats, transfer systems, and wheelchair lifting devices.

The acquisition will help both companies provide safe, comfortable, and accessible wheelchair solutions to those with limited mobility, according to Q’Straint.

“Adapt Solutions’ corporate culture mirrors our own — making safety accessible,” said Patrick Girardin, co-president of Q’Straint. “We’re thrilled for Q’Straint to be aligned with a company that we have long admired in terms of their people, their products, and their mission.”

Julie Boynton, co-president of Q’Straint, also said that both companies “thrive in their own personal space,” and that “Q’Straint will continue its focus on wheelchair passenger safety inside the vehicle, while Adapt Solutions concentrates on assisting people with mobility challenges entering and exiting their vehicles.”

Gina Lewis, CEO of Adapt Solutions, added that the synergy between the companies, particularly in terms of their commitment to safety, will help them leverage their core strengths.

For over 35 years, Q’Straint has focused on developing solutions to advance the safety and effectiveness of wheelchair passenger travel, serving customers in more than 70 countries, according to the company.
