Barnes is now back at work and is focused on getting his department fully staffed.
The tornado that struck Forrest and Lamar counties on Sunday affected nearly all of Hattiesburg Public School District’s buses, so schools were closed for several days. With buses on loan from neighboring operations, the district is able to resume transporting students on Thursday.
