Espar engine pre-heater available in Trans Tech buses

The company’s E-Guardian 5 engine pre-heater is available on the Type A school bus manufacturer’s buses immediately. The E-Guardian 5 is EPA verified and California Air Resources Board approved, and officials say some of the benefits of the system include a warm engine start without plug-ins, reduced engine idling for fuel savings, less engine maintenance and use of the Multi-Max Digital Controller for ease of use.

The series package also includes Espar’s Multi-Max controller with a set of PC-programmable features, allowing management to select holiday and vacation days as much as one year in advance, and ambient temperature sensing to prevent heaters from running in warmer mornings.

Espar's Multi-Max 1000 controller for its E-Guardian Series of bus heaters features a maximum run-time setting so that it will not run continuously when the heater is started manually. A programmable “set and forget” timer enables the heater start/stop sequence to be set in accordance with the fleet schedule.
