Freightliner Custom Chassis CEO to retire

Bob Harbin, who served as president and CEO since 2006, will retire effective July 31. He will be succeeded by David Carson, general manager of human resources for Daimler Trucks North America.

CleanFUEL USA moves to new Mich. facility

Officials say that at 10,000 square feet, the new facility is double that of the previous facility, and that its configuration allows for better use of production space, including a dedicated clean room for sensitive component assembly and an expanded prototype shop for developing new designs and systems.

Freightliner recognized for sustainability efforts

The chassis manufacturer receives the 2010 WasteWise Gold Achievement Award for Waste Reduction in the Workplace from the EPA. Freightliner achieved zero waste to landfill status in October 2009, and the company’s employees continually recycle such materials as plastic, paper, aluminum, cardboard, metals, wood and nylon.
