Mobile Connectivity Solution Supplier Partners With IC Bus, OnCommand Connection

MCLEAN, Va. — Kajeet, a supplier of mobile student internet connectivity, has partnered with school bus manufacturer IC Bus and advanced remote diagnostics supplier OnCommand Connection to expand its Wi-Fi service.

The company’s partnership with the two Navistar subsidiaries will allow new and existing school buses from IC Bus to connect to educationally-filtered Wi-Fi, powered by the Kajeet SmartBus solution.

The Kajeet SmartBus solution turns students' travel time into instructional time and improves student behavior and overall safety by providing managed, filtered internet on the school bus. The solution connects students, OnCommand Connection, and any internet-capable device on the bus. Kajeet SmartBus hardware can either be built-in during the manufacturing process of new school buses or retrofitted for existing IC Bus customers.

OnCommand Connection is working to bring more connected vehicle services, including advanced remote diagnostics, to school buses.

“These tools help fleets by informing the back office on all aspects of vehicle health and maintenance, keeping buses on the road while making student travel safer," said Andrew Dondlinger, vice president and general manager of OnCommand Connection.

“This strategic partnership with IC Bus and OnCommand Connection enables Kajeet to connect more school bus fleets across the nation, providing more students additional learning time and dispatch access to technology on their buses,” said Daniel Neal, the CEO and founder of Kajeet.

Neal added that the company is "excited to expand our reach into connecting technology, like OnCommand Connection, to ensure a safe environment for students on the bus.” 

Kajeet currently partners with over 750 schools and districts across the U.S., and the Kajeet SmartBus solution is available on six North American 4G LTE wireless networks.
