HOUSTON — A 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive on Thursday after apparently being left in a hot daycare bus for about four hours, and died soon afterward, police said.

Houston Police Department officials said in a news briefing on Friday that the boy, Raymond Pryer, did not leave the Discovering Me Academy bus with the other children at the end of a field trip, according to NBC News. (Police said that the bus returned to the daycare facility with the students between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., according to ABC News.) Authorities also said that there was no ventilation in the bus, which had a temperature of 113 degrees fahrenheit inside, according to ABC News.

When Pryer’s father arrived to pick up his son from on Thursday afternoon, the boy was found unresponsive on the bus. Police said that the boy was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, ABC News reports.

Authorities said that the bus driver and authorities are being interviewed and are cooperating, and no one is being charged at this time, according to ABC News.
