FOREST CITY, Iowa — A moving school bus apparently became a target for someone shooting a pellet gun here on Friday.

The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. as the Forest City Community School District bus was transporting students. According to a statement from the district, a window on the bus was shot by a pellet gun while the bus was in motion.

“All children are safe and there were no injuries as a result of the shattered window,” the district statement said. “This note is to provide accurate information, to discourage rumors, and to ask for your assistance in notifying authorities if you have any information.”

The Forest City Police Department launched an investigation of the incident. On Friday evening, police reported on Facebook that a suspect had been identified.

According to KIMT, police said that Martin Tindall, 32, was arrested and charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, which is a felony, and third-degree criminal mischief.
