RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — A high school student here is accused of bringing a gun onto a school bus on Tuesday, WPEC-CBS 12 reports.

The 16-year-old student was arrested when he got off the bus that afternoon, according to the news source. The student now faces a gun possession charge.

The School District of Palm Beach County said that the gun was discovered after an anonymous phone call to police while the bus was bringing students home, according to WPEC-CBS 12. The teen is accused of displaying the gun, according to CBS 12. It is not clear whether the gun was loaded.

The district also said that additional security and officers were on campus on Wednesday and that parents were alerted about the incident.
