Student Robbed After Being Dropped Off at Wrong School Bus Stop

Posted on September 7, 2017

LANDOVER, Md. — A student here says that he was robbed of his shoes and phone after being dropped off at the wrong bus stop on Tuesday, FOX 5 reports.

The 12-year-old boy told the news source that a group of men approached him after he got off the bus, and one of them told the boy to give him his shoes and his phone.

The boy told the bus driver where he lived, but was dropped off at a stop 2 miles away from his home, according to FOX 5. The boy’s mother told the news source that she hadn’t received bus information in the mail before school started, so her son’s father drove the boy to school and spoke to staff members about which bus he was supposed to ride. She added that he boarded the bus he was told to ride, and that she has an older child who attended the same school and got dropped off at a stop two blocks from their home.

A spokesperson for Prince George’s County Public Schools told FOX 5 that the district is investigating what happened and made the school principal aware of the situation. The principal called the boy’s mother to apologize and said that she will make sure the boy is on the correct bus in the days to come, according to the news source, and the transportation director also called the boy’s mother on the evening of the incident.
