BYRON CENTER, Mich. — Mobile video technology supplier Pro-Vision Video Systems has enhanced the storage capabilities of its high-definition bus video recording system to provide more than two years’ worth of recording time from one solid-state drive (SSD).

The solid-state design of the Pro-Vision system, created for mobile environments, is built to perform in the field, while affordably providing the storage capabilities needed to store years’ worth of video.

Along with Pro-Vision providing continuous updates of DVR and desktop software features, the system offers users up to 4 terabytes of storage for video files. When activated by the vehicle’s ignition, the system is designed to begin loop recording constant video to the SSD. With the expanded storage capabilities, the system allows for over two years of constant video recording without filling up the SSD, depending on the number of cameras per vehicle, hours of recording per day, and other factors, according to Pro-Vision.

The system utilizes H.264 high-profile file compression to enable users to save more video files while still using minimal storage space.

“We want to ensure our systems are ready for years of reliable service,” said Andrew Beach, director of sales and service at Pro-Vision. “This is part of our commitment to providing the latest advancements in technology for our customers.”
