Two school district operations in Texas were among the fleets recognized for exemplary performance in this year's "100 Best Fleets" list.

The fleets are chosen based on a variety of documented criteria, including accountability, use of technology and information, staff development and training, quick and efficient repair turnaround, and resource stewardship.

The 100 Best Fleets honorees for 2017 were announced at the NAFA Institute and Expo in Tampa, Florida, last week. The list is sponsored by consultant and author Tom C. Johnson.

Here are the selected school district fleets and their places on the list:

59. Humble (Texas) Independent School District (ISD)
62. San Antonio ISD

Also, four school district fleets earned honorable mentions:

• Austin (Texas) ISD
• Galena Park ISD, Houston
• Lower Merion School District, Ardmore, Pennsylvania
• Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (Texas) ISD

Other honorees on the list included government, military, police, utility, and university fleets.
