FAIRVIEW, Pa. — Dana Alvez, a lead maintenance technician for Durham School Services, has earned the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) master school bus technician certification.

Master-certified technicians must complete a series of rigorous tests ranging from body systems and diesel engines to suspension and steering. In 2016, about 4,500 technicians became ASE certified, and about 1,400 earned master certification.

For his achievement, Alvez will be recognized in front of his peers at a Durham monthly safety meeting.

“Dana brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our skilled maintenance team,” said Ann Stephens, general manager for Durham. “This accomplishment shows his personal and professional dedication to getting our students safely to and from school.”
