KANSAS CITY, Mo. — GPS navigation supplier Magellan demonstrated its suite of fleet solutions for public transportation vehicles at the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) trade show last week.

During the show, attendees had the opportunity to demo the RC9665, Magellan's 7-inch, IP67 ruggedized navigation device for school buses, trucks, and municipal fleet vehicles. The company also demonstrated its Return to Route smart routing solution, which is designed to keep drivers on track and on time and to prevent missed stops.

According to Magellan, Return to Route utilizes advanced routing algorithms and GPS positioning technology to ensure that drivers complete their designated routes in the correct order. If a school bus driver makes a wrong turn, or misses part of a designated route, Return to Route will automatically navigate the driver back to the point of route departure.

"We are excited to join the NAPT and show attendees the features we've added to Magellan's Fleet Navigators that will help school bus drivers with everything from route guidance to not missing a single bus stop," said Mark Perini, vice president of Magellan's automotive business. "Our Return to Route feature adds efficiency for school bus fleets, and peace of mind for parents."
