First Student operates more than 70 school bus routes for Lawrence Public Schools.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Lawrence Public Schools has renewed its transportation service with First Student for another five years.

The Kansas district has worked with First Student for the past 40 years. The new contract includes the management and operation of more than 70 school bus routes. About 2,500 students in Lawrence ride First Student buses to and from school daily.

“We have worked together with Lawrence Public Schools to provide quality, consistent service for generations of students and their families,” said John Billigmeier, First Student area general manager. “As an experienced, long-term partner, we see the benefits of engaging with the district to provide a tailored approach to transportation that creates the best start and finish to the school day.”
