GREENSBORO, N.C. — First Student will continue to provide special-education bus transportation for Guilford County Schools through the 2021 school year.

The Greensboro-based district recently extended its 15-year partnership with the school transportation provider. First Student school bus drivers and monitors transport nearly 1,000 special-need students daily for Guilford County Schools, which is the third-largest school district in North Carolina.

First Student said that it invests heavily in special training and equipment to safely transport students with special needs, while an internal team works to keep the company at the forefront of evolving requirements and needs.

“Our student passengers are at the heart of our business, and providing safe transportation drives all we do,” First Student Area General Manager Shawn Albright said. “We look forward to remaining a trusted partner to Guilford County Schools in delivering tailored transportation solutions that make riding the bus a positive experience for the students in our care.”
