COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A trucking company has disciplined one of its drivers and reminds its employees of the law after the driver was caught on video illegally passing a school bus, WXIA reports.

A camera for local news source 11Alive captured video of a driver for Courier Express passing the bus as it was stopped with its lights flashing and stop arm extended, according to WXIA.

Vinnie Summers, the freight operations manager for Courier Express, was alerted to the video and immediately contacted 11Alive for more information. Summers was then able to identify the driver who was responsible by using data from electronic onboard recorders that are installed in all of the company’s trucks, WXIA reports. Summers told WXIA that the driver, who has worked for the company for 14 years and has an otherwise spotless record, admitted to passing the school bus. He received a written reprimand.

Courier Express also reminded its employees of the law and to stop for a stopped school bus with its lights flashing, according to WXIA.
