WOODSTOCK, Ontario — A school bus was among the vehicles stopped in a traffic enforcement operation here on Tuesday.

The Woodstock Police Service targeted an area of the city that has been identified as a trouble spot for speeding, distracted driving, and aggressive driving.

Police charged seven drivers with speeding on Tuesday. One of the vehicles was a school bus with children on board. According to Woodstock Police, the school bus driver was traveling 78 km/hour (about 48 mph) in a posted 50 km/hour (31 mph) zone.

“Speeding and road safety are a concern for our community and police department,” a Woodstock Police statement said. “Police want to remind all drivers to slow down, plan ahead, and keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.”
