First Student Names More Art Contest Winners
The latest winning entries come from three Texas elementary school students. The company awards the students’ schools $1,000 each for classroom supplies, and the entries will be featured in a First Student ad campaign.

LEWISVILLE, Texas — Three elementary school students in Texas are the latest winners in an artwork contest sponsored by First Student.
The contest celebrates the experience of riding the school bus through artwork created by students in school districts across North America.
First Student selected the latest winning entries from the Lewisville Independent School District. Callie Clay, a second grade student at Castle Hills Elementary; Viktoriya Kukarenkina, a third grade student at Liberty Elementary School; and Daniel Rodriguez, a first grade student at Camey Elementary School, captured how “Happiness starts with yellow.”
“We appreciate all of the entries we received from the Lewisville School District,” said First Student President Dennis R. Maple. “The school bus plays such an integral role in the lives of children, and we can see how meaningful the experience is for the students we transport in the artwork they create.”

First Student awarded each elementary school $1,000 to put toward classroom supplies. The winning artwork entries will also be featured in upcoming issues of District Administration Magazine as part of an ongoing First Student advertising campaign.
“We enjoyed partnering with First Student to celebrate the lasting memories that are made on the way to and from school,” said Superintendent Dr. Kevin Rogers. “Our students showed a lot of creativity in their artwork, and we are proud of Callie, Viktoriya and Daniel for submitting winning entries.”
First Student is awarding a total of $12,000 this year to schools with winning entries in participating districts that the company serves. Winning entries have also been selected in the Jericho School District in New York and the St. Louis and Rockwood school districts in Missouri.
