HIGH POINT, N.C. — With its green vehicle lineup growing, Thomas Built Buses has created a new position: manager of alternative fuels.

The school bus manufacturer announced on Thursday that it has hired John Roselli to take on the new role. Roselli will handle sales, education and training for Thomas Built’s alt-fuel offerings: the Saf-T-Liner C2 propane, Saf-T-Liner C2 CNG (compressed natural gas), Saf-T-Liner HDX CNG, Minotour CNG and Minotour propane.

“Thomas Built Buses is a leader in the school bus industry, with many first-to-market green technologies, both on our buses and in our plants,” said Ken Hedgecock, vice president of sales, marketing and service. “John’s new position will help us continue to expand our green product lineup.”

Hedgecock said that Roselli will talk with customers about alternative fuel options, provide information on green advancements, and facilitate training workshops on issues like funding, maintenance and infrastructure.

Roselli comes to Thomas Built Buses with extensive experience in alternative fuels. He previously served as director of alternative fuels for Blue Bird for three years. Before that, he was a sales manager at A-Z Bus Sales in California, and he played a key role in developing the alternative fuel market in that state.
