SPRING GROVE, Pa. — No one was hurt when a car crashed head-on into a stopped school bus here on Wednesday, police said.

The incident involved a Spring Grove Area School District bus that was transporting 16 students from middle, intermediate and high schools.

According to the Southwestern Regional Police Department, the bus was stopped with its red lights flashing and was about to discharge students at 3 p.m. when a car traveling in the opposite direction failed to stop in time and slid into the front of the bus.

All of the students on the bus were taken back to school and were checked out by school medical staff, but no injuries were reported.

Police said that the bus was “driveable with little damage.” The car, a 1999 Mitsubishi, was towed from the scene.

It was not clear whether the driver of the Mitsubishi would be cited.
