Patty Riviello, vice president of human resources at The Trans Group, accepts the Thomas Built Buses Continuing Education Award from Ken Hedgecock, vice president of sales, marketing and service at Thomas Built Buses, at NSTA's annual meeting in Minneapolis.
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. — Patty Riviello, vice president of human resources at The Trans Group, was honored with the Thomas Built Buses Continuing Education Award at the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) annual meeting in July.
The $2,500 annual grant is presented to an employee of a contractor company belonging to the NSTA as reimbursement for the costs of educational programs.
“Everyone at The Trans Group joins me in congratulating Patty on receiving the Thomas Built Buses Continuing Education Award,” Trans Group President John Corr said. “Patty is an incredible asset to our company and is an integral part of The Trans Group leadership team. She continually strives for excellence at work and through her dedication to education. This annual grant will be put to good use by Patty and is very well deserved.”
Riviello joined The Trans Group in 1987 as a school bus driver and rose through the ranks to become vice president of human resources. She provides leadership and coordination of all company human resource functions; develops and implements corporate human resource strategy and programs; supervises and trains management staff on laws and regulations; and ensures the company maintains compliance in all areas of employment law, according to Corr.
A resident of Montebello, New York, Riviello is working toward her Master of Science in human resource management at Stony Brook University.
