DERWOOD, Md. — A pedestrian who was struck by a school bus here on Thursday morning later died from her injuries, authorities said.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department’s preliminary investigation, a 58-year-old woman was crossing a street around 9 a.m. when a school bus that was making a left turn struck her.

The pedestrian, identified as Crucita Reynoso, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died later in the day.

Police said that the Montgomery County Public Schools bus was driven by Jonathan Chinghun Chiu, 54.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department’s collision reconstruction unit are investigating the collision.
