Zonar will host a free web seminar to review the features of modern telematics platforms and how pupil transportation fleets are using them to improve safety and efficiency.

The presenters include Craig Kahoun, director at Zonar, and Don Carnahan, vice president of business development at Zonar and president of the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT).

“This webinar will provide an overview of benefits districts receive from telematics and what to consider when evaluating telematics for a pupil transportation operation,” Carnahan said. “Today’s telematics platforms not only improve bus transportation, but help enable improvements across the district, including bus maintenance, accounting and human resources.”

Zonar officials said that webinar attendees will learn ways to improve fuel efficiency; increase rider safety and emergency preparedness; automate compliance activities and Medicaid reporting; improve vehicle uptime and route optimization; integrate telematics data for payroll applications and more.

Zonar recently announced bundled service packages that provide the company's full-featured telematics system for under $20 per month with no up-front hardware costs. Zonar also offers $50,000 grants in collaboration with NAPT. Applications are being accepted through Oct. 15, 2014.

The webinar, titled “An Introduction to School Bus Fleet Telematics,” will take place on Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern. Registration is available here.
