NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Authorities here are continuing to investigate a crash in which a 17-year-old driver struck a guide wire that was supporting a utility pole, which caused the wire to fall into the path of a school bus.

According to News Channel 3, the bus then struck the wire, which caused the pole to fall to the ground and the wire to fall across the bus. When officers arrived at the scene, they had the 31 students and the driver remain on the bus until Dominion Power could respond and remove the wire.

No injuries were reported. The 17-year-old driver has been issued a summons for reckless driving.
