LOS BANOS, Calif. — Drivers for Los Banos Unified School District recently received training to help prepare them in the event that their bus is attacked by a gunman, Merced Sun-Star reports.

The training was presented by the Merced County Sheriff’s Department, and Deputy Delray Shelton told the newspaper that it was designed to give the drivers hands-on, practical skills.

It addressed how to react to the circumstances calmly and use sound judgment.
