MADISON, Ind. — Rotary Lift recently introduced its new AR18 four-post alignment lift, which officials said easily adapts to meet the needs of independent repair shops, mixed fleets, car dealers and truck dealers.
The lift features two stainless steel turning radius gauges for use when performing alignments and is compatible with all brands and types of alignment instrumentation, according to Rotary Lift. The AR18 has a rated capacity of 18,000 lbs., enough to service everything up to and including Class 5 trucks. One runway is adjustable by 3 inches to allow the lift to be narrowed or widened depending on the vehicle being serviced.
“The AR18’s ability to do it all means you won’t have to turn away customers or send out alignment work anymore,” said Doug Spiller, heavy-duty product manager for Rotary Lift. “If you want to add four-wheel alignments to your service offerings, it can be set up to accommodate wheelbases as short as 63 inches and as long as 162 inches. The extended-length model increases the max wheelbase capability up to 198 inches.”
The hydraulic cylinder and lifting mechanism on the AR18 are tucked under one of the lift’s runways, eliminating a potentially vehicle-damaging overhead obstruction. Two 9,000 lb.-capacity rolling jacks are included as standard equipment to enable wheels-free brake, tire, alignment and suspension work.
The AR18 features improved alignment turnplates and slots along the sides of the runways to accommodate an optional work step. Automatic ramp chocks engage when the lift is raised, and strips of protective material have been added to the ramp bottoms to reduce noise and lessen the chance of floor damage. The lift also consists of modular components, making it easily adaptable to meet specific wheelbase needs.
“The AR18 comes with a non-skid surface for secure footing, half-inch steel cabling for durability and a patented lock management system for peace of mind,” Spiller added.
The AR18 has been third-party tested by ETL and approved by the Automotive Lift Institute to meet industry safety and performance standards, according to company officials.
