SALT LAKE CITY — Cold weather here put several districts’ buses temporarily out of service on Monday, Fox 13 News reports.
Among the school systems affected was Salt Lake City School District, which had 20 buses down, and Jordan School District had 30 buses out of service. According to the news outlet, about 3,000 out of the 14,000 students that Jordan School District transports were affected.
School bus technicians at the district started all 230 buses on Sunday evening, but it was too cold on Monday morning for some of them to start. Issues included batteries not holding their charge and diesel fuel gelling.
