ARLINGTON, Wash. — A Lakewood School District bus parked in front of a Walmart here on Saturday proved to be a big draw for donations for the needy, The Arlington Times reports.

Transportation Supervisor Marlene Rosenbach and her team of about 30 volunteers took in food and supplies donated by shoppers, other community members and the store itself.

In last year’s Stuff the Bus event, the Lakewood transportation staff collected more than 4,000 pounds of food. Rosenbach told the news source that the bus seemed to be filling even faster this year. The donations were to go to community food banks and a senior center.
