LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. — A school bus driver was killed and six others, including four children, were injured when an out-of-control cement truck hit a school bus head-on, Newsday reports.

The truck driver attempted to drive beneath an overpass and hit the structure, dislodging a barrel of cement. The driver then lost control and careened into the oncoming bus, police told the news source. The crash reportedly melded the fronts of the truck and bus.

The bus was transporting kids home from a day camp run by the Oyster Bay town's Group Activities Program. The bus driver died at the scene.
