COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. — State troopers said that text messaging contributed to a crash last week involving a teen driver and school bus, WALB reports.

Georgia State Patrol troopers told the news source that 18-year-old Mandy Lynn Davidson was distracted by a text message when she swerved into oncoming traffic and hit the school bus head-on.

There were no children on the bus, but the driver sustained minor injuries, and Davidson and her 16-month-old son were severely injured. Davidson is facing charges of driving on the wrong side of the roadway and texting while driving.
