WARRENVILLE, Ill. — National Express Corp. has appointed Carey Paster vice president of mergers and acquisitions, a newly created role where he will be responsible for furthering the company’s presence in the passenger transportation market.

Paster joins National Express, which is the parent company of Durham School Services and Stock Transportation, with a wealth of experience in the student transportation industry.

Most recently, he led the commercial development efforts for FirstGroup America, where he was responsible for growth strategy across North America.  Prior to that, he served as CEO and president of First Student.

Paster also served on the National School Transportation Association board of directors. He holds an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.

“I am very pleased to welcome Carey to National Express,” said David Duke, CEO of National Express Corp. “He is an industry veteran, and his expertise will help us continue to grow our business across North America.”

Paster isn't the only longtime pupil transportation executive to recently join National Express Corp. SBF reported last week that Charlie Bruce had been appointed to the newly created role of chief operating officer.
