LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Pepper spray was discharged on a Carmody Middle School bus carrying nearly 50 students last Wednesday, according to Denver Westword.

Eight of the students required medical treatment after the incident. Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis told the news source that no criminal charges are anticipated, as the spraying appeared to be accidental.

Davis also said that as more and more students carry pepper spray, it is important to educate them on how to use it properly.
