Linda Bluth, who just finished her term as president of the National Association for Pupil Transportation, is now available to train drivers and trainers on School Bus Safety Co.'s courses.

The School Bus Safety Co. (SBSC) has entered into a partnership with Dr. Linda Bluth, who just concluded her term as president of the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT).

Bluth has 47 years of experience as a special educator, including 32 years in special-needs transportation. Her experience includes serving as a university professor, a school system administrator and a policy specialist in the Maryland Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families.

“Having finished my term as president of NAPT, I plan to stay at the forefront of the school bus industry, where I can add the most value,” Bluth said. “I am excited by the quality and content of the programs created by SBSC. I want to make a difference in the appropriate and safe transportation of students, and partnering with SBSC is an excellent opportunity for me to do this.”

Bluth said that she is endorsing SBSC’s training programs, which include the Driver Training Course, Transporting Students with Special Needs, Bullying Prevention on the School Bus and the OSHA Compliance Toolkit.

“The best way to improve the quality and safety of student transportation is to provide better training to the drivers and attendants,” she said. “The training courses created by SBSC are exemplary and highly recognized for enhancing safety in the student transportation business. These modern programs are refreshingly new, engaging, custom designed to school buses and, most importantly, effective.”

SBSC President Jeff Cassell said that Bluth is now available to train trainers on how best to deliver the courses — or to train drivers directly.

“The goal is outcome oriented,” Cassell said. “We need to improve the safe behaviors of the drivers, and no one is better than Dr. Bluth to ensure this is achieved.”
