OMAHA, Neb. — Radio Engineering Industries Inc. (REI) has added SD40, a compact, lightweight, solid-state digital video recorder, to its family of BUS-WATCH digital video surveillance systems.

REI's SD40 features H.264 video compression technology, which provides faster downloads and longer recording times by utilizing REI's Secure Digital memory card.

Download convenience with solid-state memory and low temperature performance makes the SD40 reliable, tamper-resistant and easy to maintain, company officials said. By removing the postage-size Secure Digital card instead of a larger hard drive, videos can be downloaded quickly and easily.

Additional features of the SD40 include the ability to connect up to four surveillance cameras, GPS and WiFi compatibility, and eight-way sensor programming.
