GOSHEN, Ind. — Starcraft Bus has released a new multi-function school activity bus (MFSAB), the Prodigy XP.

Company officials said that the Prodigy XP was designed and built from the ground up to utilize the same body style as Starcraft’s recently released Xpress shuttle bus.

The Prodigy XP offers steel-cage construction, seat belts and various other safety features as standard equipment. It is designed specifically for daycare centers, after-school programs and school corporations that require MFSABs to transport their children.

“The majority of MFSAB customers are looking for a 14-passenger floor plan with either school bus or activity bus seats," said David Wright, general manager of Starcraft Bus and Federal Coach. "We designed this bus specifically for that market."

Wright noted that the bus includes many of the features that Starcraft sees ordered on a daily basis.

"Seat belts, air conditioning and a one-piece fiberglass rear cap are just a few of the standard features on the Prodigy XP," he said. "Because we limited the floor plans and options, we reduced our production costs, and by taking advantage of our massive buying power, we were able to pass those savings on to our customers.”

In addition to the Prodigy XP, Starcraft currently markets two other MFSABs: the Prodigy LP and the Prodigy DRW.
