PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia — Board of education members for School District No. 57 objected to parents paying for the district’s school bus service during a trustees meeting earlier this week.
The decision was made even as the district faces half a million dollars in overspending on bus transportation, according to 94X and The Wolf News.
"We are a rural district ... part of what we do is get kids to school," board trustee Trish Bella told the news sources.
The board of education approved a motion for senior administration to more efficiently transport students. Monitoring ridership is one suggestion.
