HIGH POINT, N.C. — Thomas Built Buses will offer its annual week-long Thomas Built Institute for customers from May 10-13. Participating technicians will receive credit for 28 hours of bus maintenance education.
“Ever-changing technology, EPA standards and safety regulations are tough to keep up with,” said Mike Stotler, service education manager for Thomas Built Buses. “The annual Thomas Built Institute here in High Point offers school bus technicians a great way to get hands-on training and first-hand experience in small classes, all in less than a week’s time.”
The curriculum includes a 2011 emissions system class and an advanced electrical class, plus a choice of one of the following tracks:
• Type C: Multiplex, Service Link and Troubleshooting
• Type D: Electrical and Fan Drive
Also on the agenda are coolant, maintenance and cost savings; utilizing websites, resources and wire diagrams; and factory tours.
The session is limited to 100 students, so early enrollment is recommended. The program costs $250 and includes lunch and ground transportation. To sign up, visit www.thomasbus.com.
