Spring session of IC Bus University scheduled

Posted on January 14, 2011

TULSA, Okla. — This year’s first session of IC Bus University, the manufacturer’s maintenance training program, will be held here the week of March 14.

Attendees will be provided with up to 42 hours of instruction on bus maintenance, engines, bus electrical components, Ricon lifts, Braun lifts, Allison transmissions, SMI equipment, Navistar parts, as well other areas of concern to school bus technicians. They will also receive a guided tour of the Tulsa bus plant.

John Thompson, director of training for IC Bus said, “We continue to have tremendous interest in IC Bus University. We believe that it is ‘best in class’ training for the self-maintainer, and we expect the March session to fill quickly. We really appreciate the interest in our training programs, and based upon the feedback that we have received on previous sessions, we expect to continue to offer additional sessions through 2011 and beyond. Over 500 school bus technicians from as far away as American Samoa have attended IC Bus University.”

Attendees should plan to arrive in Tulsa by 12 p.m. on Monday, March 14. Return flights should be scheduled after 1 p.m. on Friday, March 18. Attendees will be responsible for transportation to and from Tulsa, hotel accommodations, an evening meal and the class fee of $300.

IC Bus will furnish daily transportation, as well as all books and materials for the session. Lunch will be provided Monday through Friday.

Registration for the session can be done through your local IC Bus dealer. For more information, contact John Thompson at (501) 505-2287, (501) 269-2700 or [email protected].
