CINCINNATI — First Student Inc. has secured four new student transportation contracts.

The contractor will serve Union (Mo.) R-XI School District under a five-year agreement that includes the maintenance and operation of 30 district-owned vehicles that cover 25 daily routes.

In a second Missouri-based agreement, First Student will serve the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton. The one-year contract includes the operation, management and maintenance of a four-vehicle fleet that runs four routes daily.

The company’s contract with Independent School District 625 in St. Paul, Minn., is a renewal and expansion of an existing full-service agreement. The district’s fleet comprises 250 vehicles that cover 230 routes — an increase of 70 routes from the previous contract. All of the buses in the fleet are equipped with GPS tracking systems.

Finally, First Student has signed a four-year, full-service agreement with Clinton (Conn.) School District for a fleet of 30 vehicles. The contractor has ordered 10 new Type A buses to add to the fleet, and the entire fleet will be equipped with air conditioning. All full-size buses also will be equipped with digital cameras.

“These contracts represent both essential new growth and a continued commitment to our existing customer base as we provide the school districts we serve with quality student transportation services,” said David Duke, senior vice president of sales for First Student.
